HIKING TRAILS
CHANTRY FLAT/to Hoegee's Trail Camp
From the 210 freeway exit Santa Anita Avenue in Arcadia. Take Santa Anita north and follow Chanrty Road 6 miles up the mountainside to Chantry Picnic Area. From the Parking Area at Chantry Flat, head down the paved fire road into the canyon. This is about a 6 mile round trip. This ends at the stream at the canyon bottom. Cross the small bridge and turn left. The first half of this hike takes you boulder hopping through the canyon, surrounded by tress. Hoegee's Campground is about 2.5 miles upstream, requiring one last stream crossing before reaching it. This is a good halfway point to stop and have lunch, enjoy the surroundings and wet your feet in the stream. Resume your hike by crossing the steam again, just up from the campground. You will climb steeply for a while then the trail levels off. The view as you round the bend of trees is spectacular. The National Forest Adventure Pass must be displayed in your vehicle while parked at Chantry Picnic Area. For current information call Angeles National Forest at (818) 899-1900 or (626) 574-5200.
CHANTRY FLAT/to Sturdevant Falls

We recommend you try this hike during the week-there are less folks then. The National Forest Adventure Pass must be displayed in your vehicle while parked at Chantry Picnic Area. For current information call Angeles National Forest at (818) 899-1900 or (626) 574-5200.
